The winter is back again and the creaking sound early in the cold mornings is back again. After a silent spring, summer and autumn, the irritating sound is making me nervous when moving at first or reverse gear. In an other forum the guys have found multiple reasons and cures. One is greasing or replacing the upper strut bearings. Other one is spraying silicone spray on the sealing of the steering rod at the passing through the body to the exterior. Has any of you been through this? My dealer said not to pay attention to this sound, but I can't accept this answer...

2 things, my kadjar is the most creek/rattle and spurious noise free car I have ever had. It's faults lie elsewhere.

However all the things mentioned have happened on previous cars I've owned, the solutions mentioned are very valid and should be tried. Silicone spray is magic stuff and totally inert to rubber and humans, give it a try. For my money all the points where the steering passes through the cockpit and then bulkhead are the 1st points to check/lubricate. I suppose the bodywork/trim cools and contracts reducing clearance in winter?

Aone, as I think you know, anything a dealer says is over 50% likely to be exactly wrong, you are right to ignore the dealer not the issue, as in

Yes, you're right turboted10. Actually this morning I bought silicone spray and used it in the base of the steering rod. So far, no noise, but I'm in Italy, where it's warmer (10 degrees C). Tomorrow morning when back in freezing Austria, will check if the thing works. I'm also intending to use the spray on the folding mirrors for prevention. I used to do that with my previous Scenic when they were not fully opening.

@AOne: I haven't had any issues with steering wheel noise, BUT for the last week I have noticed my nearside mirrors not opening fully when unlocking. This seems to be spurious, in fact only three times til now. I'll give the Silicon Spray a try. Cheers.
