Did you get it fixed? Was it the rear boot door jamb at the end (where the wiring loom gets passed to the door)?
I have exactly the same problem your photos were great help and represent 100% the leak that I currently have so your reply will be appreciated.

the 2016 models have a manufacturing fault on the metal body seam above the grommet - fixed under warranty by the dealer by applying mastic to the seal the gap
not pretty - my dealer used lacquer - the first time it only lasted 2years and then redone - about due to fail about now if not permanent

Hi andym, I have just come across your post on the forum which I read with interest, I have a 2016 Kadjar, with a leak in the rear o/s corner, I have sealed around the grommet and the door seal I even sealed the bottom of the roof rail but still leaking, then I saw your post, from reading it if I understanding it correctly if I run silicone all down the metal seam it should rid me of the leak, sorry for long winded post. Thanks in advance.

the seam in question is the short section from the roof gutter end downwards, the dealers were told to  use mastic , but my dealer said it was unsightly so they used lacquer,so any form of sealant should work

Hi andym I said that I would let you know how I got on after sealing the seam on my kadjar like you said we had our first heavy rain last night since doing it and yes there are no leaks now the area which otherwise would have been wet through was completely dry, so thanks again for your advice.
