is there an update to V3 available from the renault hub 

surely it should be v3 on a brand new car

I took delivery last Saturday (GU68 HBH)  and all the paperwork and book etc says R LINK 2.  If this is an old model, I agree it should be changed!  I think I may be having words with Hendy Eastbourne (Renault Dealer)

Just thought, you have the V3 Rlink, What phone are you using,  Iphone or Android ?

I have tried 2 different Android phones on 2 separate email accounts but nothing!  Are you saying R Link 2 DOES use your phone?  Is it R Link 3 that has an internal Sim?

No, there is still a built in sim but there is a direct connection with your android phone using Android Auto which can be downloaded from App Store. 
I can't use it on my car as I'm using V2 and there is no software update to V3 yet, if it is ever going to happen, they blame hardware for no update.

The system is generically RLink2, the individual software version will be either v2 or v3 below that. My car (GX67XXX) is Rlink 2 V3.  Yours is bound to be.  You need to look at the unit settings (can't remeber exactly which way to do it) but you will find your software version and map version somewhere in the maze of menus.
