I confirm that the update from 2.2.19.300 to 3.3.16.941 is possible and it will activate android auto. I have done to my car a Kadjar  made in February 2017.
Waze and google maps work smoothly.
In Romania, most drivers prefer waze for traffic alerts, and quick reconfiguration of the route, and for police alerts.

I did not personally make the change and I do not know details. I just know that for installing version 3.3.16.941 a downgrade from 2.219.300 to a previous version is required. After installation, he used an OBD2 wifi and dd4all and activated the android auto
There are a few people who make the changes: 2 in Romania, 1 in Belgium and 1 in italy but I do not know technical details. We made the change before version 3.3.16.960 appeared.

Hi, I did it for my car. The downgrade is not necessary.
It takes about 20 minutes but after that you have to update your maps and your apps.
Android Auto is working fine.
Why the hell Renault is idiot?

Only to download them again. I still have one year of subscription for maps. After "update" I had to reinstall some other apps (or modules). Like: Service Push, R Link Store, User Profiles and Service Notification. I just downloaded them and installed as usual. Now I have 3.3.16.941.
After "update" you have to format the stick and use it in R Link 2 so it will take the new info.
I do not have/had TomTom live traffic so I cannot answer.
I AM TALKING ABOUT MY OWN EXPERIENCE! The guy who installed told me that there will be no problem to reinstall ANY app but I cannot confirm (or deny). He also said I will be able to update to 3.3.16.960 when it will be available for me.
I had to pay 75 Euro.
