I've had my 1.2 Auto Kadjar for 3 months now and I'm very pleased with it. Very smooth and no problems.
However, the other day I was parked on a ramp and needed to reverse. I tried to engage the throttle before releasing the electric brake but (as you probably know) as soon as I touched the pedal the brake released, causing the car to move forward down the ramp.
So please, can someone tell me how to safely make a hill start in reverse?

ok answer,

i have noticed to reverse uphill you need commitment
as you state as soon as you start pressing the gas pedal the brake releases, if the revs arnt high enough it will roll down hill

option 1 ( if nothing behind you ) select reverse forget the parking brake and hit the gas to about halfway it might shoot uphill a bit quick so be prepared.

option 2 ( my personal fav) dual foot control foot on the brake and on the gas, power up feel the bight and release the foot brake, the parking brake take care of itself.

problem with the modern autos is the use of clutches instead of torque converter that could hold the car on a slope, moden ones just  disengage hence the roll

I did have an afterthought that I could hold the parking brake on while I built up the revs and then let it go. It seems there is no "adjustment" to the electric brake-It's either fully on or fully off.
