My dad has a 66 plate Kadjar that has 10k on the clock. He has been driving for 50 years and never had clutch issues before. 5k of the mileage is motorway driving. He has spoken to the dealership briefly who told him it’s his fault. The manager won’t return his calls and he has had to pay 1200 to get it fixed. Has anybody had similar issues or can offer advice about the best way forward. The car was serviced by Renault 3 days before the clutch packed in.

It's patently clear that the clutch has not lasted anything like the expectation...  Quote the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to the dealer and then threaten to follow up with Small Claims court which you can do on line for a fee of less than £50

My 66 plate 1.5 dci had a weird clutch fault that started on the 1st long journey I did, it simply slipped on uphills in the higher gears. Now I too have been driving for almost 50 years and do not mistreat clutches.  Drove it carefully and booked in at the dealership.

Problem was I couldn't replicate it on the short test run at the garage with the chief mech sat with me, only later found it only slipped when really warm. Over the last 12k miles it's done it 3 times more, each time exactly as above, you could smell burning clutch on one occasion.
However because I normally drive for economy, (I think this is why it's survived so far), and don't do long runs and am mostly just 1 or 2 up, I've not dealt with it further and to be honest not noticed it over the last 6 months.
Big difference in my case is the cars on lease and as I don't want the inconvenience I not pushed it further, just ensured the issue was logged when it first occurred and then at each service.
I think mine would have gone just as early had I driven it harder.

Hi, I’m having the same issue with my kadjar, plate 66 just after been serviced, only 24K miles ( under my drive just 10K) there was a clutch judder, after 10 days the car now is at the Renault garage because the car has stopped to move definitely this morning! Been recovered by RAC I’m waiting to get information from Renault in order to see what they will have to do, but I have got some more information from the previous owner, where the car last year, just after 10K has been already recovered because the same issue with the clutch... so that must be a defective Car... will see what Renault will says, otherwise I will bring them to the Court!
