My car has just come back from my local Renault dealer (in for warranty work) and they have updated the firmware from 2.2.19.300 to 9.0. 34.611 - for free. I've now been able to activate Android Auto :-)

My car is same year and month - produced July 2016, but is already out of warranty (it was 2 years in my country). Do you know if they do update on past-warranty cars - of course not for free?
Rumor has it that in some countries Renault stopped upgrading from 2.2.19.300 to 7.x.x (I didn't know they would do 9.x.x) due to high number of bricked units...

Lucky for you. I took my car in to get the update and was advised it had failed. Now have to wait till they have new update file available. It looks like the Renault dealers are unable to update from 2.2 to the latest version

Are you in the UK and if so, what dealer did it for you?
